Hi all, had my first lap today, struggling with pain at the moment, any tips? Also don’t get my results back until next week, how soon did everyone find out because my surgeon didn’t even come and see me after! Any tips for recovery will be greatly appreciated x

Hi, I had the same issue as to pain after my lap. I suggest trying to ‘roll’ slowly out of bed instead of using too much physical strength. Also, sounds simple but continue to take pain medication if your doctor has suggested. It took me just over 2 weeks to recover fully. My doctor informed me after the procedure as to the results, maybe give him/her a ring? Best of luck with the recovery

Hi, I had my first a week ago- for a cyst and they found endometriosis. Stay in bed is my tip! I tried to do do much on my second day at home and have been paying for it last few days. Take painkillers, keep hydrated, lots of treat foods and fruit, nice gentle shower not directly on the wounds. Wear jumpsuits! I was trying with leggings but there isn’t really a good place on my tummy for the waistband. Good luck x

Hope you're feeling a bit better. Be kind to yourself and stay on top of your meds. I woke in the night in pain for the first 7 days so made sure meds were handy for me to get.

Be careful getting in and out of bed.

And just rest loads. I'm 9 days post lap and only just left the house for the first time..and that was only to be driven to Sainsbury's! It all takes time x
