Laparoscopy hysterectomy
I had my surgery 11 months ago. I also had excision, right ovary removed and my bowel 'shaved'. I spent two nights in hospital. I took eight weeks off work.
The pain post surgery wasnt nearly as bad as I imagined and I made sure I took regular pain relief.
For me the, exhaustion was the hardest thing to deal with. So please get as much rest as possible.
Good luck with your surgery and recovery.

Hi, I'm due to have one next Wednesday 21st. According to my surgeon I should be in 3-5 days depending on how big a job it is! He has said he will sign me off for 6 weeks, but could be off longer, again depending on how the operation goes. I have been told to take little walks often in the first few days, increasing mobility as time goes on. No driving for 4-6 weeks, no sex either for 4-6 weeks. Definitely no heavy lifting, again for 4-6 weeks, just light housework until I feel stronger.
Hope this helps, I shall try to get on here after to let you know how it went.

Hi I had a laparoscopic total hysterectomy and bowel resection 7 months ago. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I had been told to expect to be in high dependency for the first night but didn't need to. My surgery was done late afternoon and took a very long time but after the initial nasty pain in the recovery room it wasn't bad at all. I stayed in hospital3 nights and had 4.weeks off work. I stayed very mobile and felt good although the anaesthetic took a while to recover from. To date apart from a small issue with my bowel I feel amazing and am so happy. I didn't realise quite how much pain I was in and how rotten I had felt before-def the right move for me.
Good luck

Hi,
I am 32 and have been asking since I was 27, I understand were the dr is coming from but get so fed up and down of being in pain 😞 I have had 3 operations since I was first diagnosed in 2009
Xx
Blimey my friend has had a battle because of her age and she is 39 and they won't take her overies as too young but they are operating now x
Im 30 and my gny is happy to take mine. I think it's because my endo seems to be all over my ovaries. I'm having a lap in a week and depending on that outcome, i will go ahead for hysterectomy xxx
