Hey guys, I have my diagnostic lap at 12.30 and I'm just wondering if you have any tips for the pain afterwards and how to get through it easy as possible?
Thank you!

Good Luck with ur lap today. I think the key is to keep on the painkillers and take them as regularly as you can. Also, to rest up lots after and take it easy for at less a week. I had my second lap a week and a bit ago, and keeping up with painkillers and resting is key. You will also need to get up and take a small walk, even just to the toilet, to prevent clots and also to help get your body going after the Anaesthetic.
All the best and I hope it goes well for you. Keep us posted.
God Bless You.

Hey, I had my first laparoscopy today as well! The nurse said for the shoulder pain (caused by the Gas) that most painkillers won't touch it however that people swear by mint and peppermint e.g. Peppermint tea, mints etc, and I've also found rolling your shoulders etc helps a little. In regards to the pelvic/abdominal pain rest up but ty and move around every hour or so to keep mobile and help reduce the chance of clots etc. Don't rush yourself to drive etc and listen to your body. If the painkillers you've got aren't making the pain at least bearable give your GP a call. I've had cocodomol ibuprofen and tranadol and still feeling pretty crappy with pain, but it's tolerable at the moment. Also make sure you Drink plenty as well! x
The surgery itself, the results and the level of care were pretty awful to be honest. I've got endo, pcos and some incurable form of cystitis. The doctor gave me no follow up appointments or any advice on what I have so I had to google it. He also said he knows people with worse so suck it up and stop crying about the pain.
BUT I got sent home with a whole bottle of morphine so right now I couldn't care because I'm so doped up 😂
So sorry to hear your care was so bad. have you managed to get a follow up or referral elsewhere?
