Help please x

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since I posted on here. Since I was 14, I’ve had heavy and painful periods. So painful I’d have days where I’d be curled up in bed trying not to cry/scream because they hurt so much. They last 9 days, and are so heavy. I also get period pain when I wee and also when I have a full bladder which is the worst for me.

My Gynaecologist told me to get the coil fitted as this would take away my symptoms but ... well it hasn’t. 10 months on and my periods aren’t heavy anymore but they now last two weeks instead of 9 days. I no longer get gut wrenching period pain, it’s more like I’m in constant pain for about three Weeks of the month rather than being in agony for 9 days. I’m also now getting menstrual migraines.

I have ANOTHER gynaecologist appointment on Monday as I’m so tired of being pain. Do I push for a lap? I’m so worried about them not finding anything now that I’m no longer having gut wrenching pain, but I’m so tired of having period pain for about 2 weeks in a row (it’s painful, and I lose sleep most nights over it) ...what would you all suggest?

Hi. I would go back to the dr and ask for a laparoscopy. You would then know what was going on and they may be able to help get rid of some of the Endo, limit damage etc. Your monthly routine sounds very familiar to me and it is no way to live. I have now had surgery and am under the care of a good doctor. I am currently recovering from surgery and feeling better already. It has to be worth getting in control of your body if you can, no?
