Sharp pains/First period/Mirena coil!

Hey!

It's been a while since I've wrote on here..I'm now 5/6 weeks post lap (which they found endo on my ovaries and womb) and am currently experiencing my first period since having the Lap and Mirena Coil put in.

To be honest I've been losing stuff since the Lap..When I went for my coil check last week she did a swab as she said there could of been a infection but the coil was fine and still In place.

My first period is nothing like my consultant told me..he said to expect it to be very heavy and painful..But it's not been..so I'm a little confused!? It's lighter than my normal periods..But the pain is soo bad..and I'm still in pain every day with the endo too..I thought the coil was meant to be helping with the pain?

I've been taking co-codemol which I hate as I usually hate taking even a paracetamol, But the last few days I've been getting very sharp pain on my left side (always been my worst side) but it's like a sharp sudden very strong pain that goes all down my left leg. Also my fatigue has come back and headaches ..Can anyone tell me if This is to do with the coil?.

They have told me to wait until April 2019 to give the coil a chance but tbh..So far I'm hateing it. I really just want the Endo taken away..So fed up with it!

Hallo I don’t have experience with the coil but your continued sharp pain, fatigue and headaches are red flags to me. The headaches could be hormonal (from the coil), but it’s the pain that doesn’t sound right to me. I suggest going back to your doctor/specialist.

Hey!

I know it's been a while since you posted but I wondered if you ever figured out what was causing the pains? I am 4, nearly 5 weeks post op and am having the pain on the left side that goes down my left leg too, very sharp and sudden, ranges from this to being dull and constant. Wondering if its coil or endometriosis related but i'm not sure! Any advice on how you managed would be really appreciated as I am at my wits end. Currently awaiting my first period too which is a week late.
