When did you see the gynae consultant? Then when did you have surgery?

I am still waiting - getting frustrated as my symptoms have changed for the worse.

I have had 1 appointment with the gynae consultant. No pre-op & no date for surgery although I have been put on the “urgent” list.

I phoned the secretary and she said that they are actually cancelling surgery for some people, due to holidays and surgical lists being cancelled.

My GP has written to the hospital to let them know that my symptoms have changed too.

Argh 😤

Have you asked to go on the cancellations list as well , this may also speed up the process. Good luck xxx

Hi Tinkerbell yah I am on the cancellation list, think I have done everything that I possibly can so the waiting is the worst part. They shouldn’t say a timescale if they can’t keep to it x

Keep ringing (politely)! If you're on the urgent list, then they will have a target that's something like 12 weeks as a maximum wait, and if it's already 'urgent' I don't think your GP writing will do anything to speed it up. Being willing to take a date at very short notice is your best chance of it happening sooner rather than later. How much notice have you said you need? If you've said one week then you probably won't get any more notice than that. Best wishes xx

Thanks for replying, I didn’t give a notice period, only said to contact me if there is a cancellation:) not that I really want surgery as I am nervous about it but it needs done 😞

Gotcha. It's possible that whenever you do have a pre-op they will ask you about your availability and what kind of notice you need at that stage. Hang in there, you are stronger than you think. I know it's not easy, all of the uncertainty. xx

I had my gynae appointment in feb, I got my pre op in July and I had my lap yesterday! It felt like such a long process, I hope you get some answers soon :) x
