I went to the doctors with pelvic pain, they done an ultrasound and found 2 large endometriomas i had the ca 125 test and that came back high.
i was put on the fast track, so 2 weeks ago i had a laparoscopy to remove both cysts. When i woke the surgeon said i had had extensive work done but he had managed to keep it keyhole, witch im thankful for, on my discharge papers it says i have stage IV endometriosis, he bunt the endo and unstuck any organs that where stuck together, and to start taking the mini pill. he also discharged me without any follow up. I went to the doctors today not my normal doctor i was seen by, but she says no other treatment is needed or follow up/ referral. So does this mean they have diagnosed me with this and now i just have to get on with it? Im quite upset about the after care.

i would contact the hospital and ask for a follow up to discuss the findings. you could either ring your consultants secretary or ask for the pals dept.
Thank you I will write ro mine as still very unclear what was left of Endometriosis after my surgery.
The consultant had a terrible cold at my consultation and threw me with two conflicting findings, the day of consultation and post surgery day, he told me significantly different accounts of what he found and Its on my mind so Ive been curious about getting a report post surgery.
My experience, after last 3 ops, post op care, follow up, and advice has been poor and conflicting. Ive always had to chase things up myself and get copies of surgical notes and histology results.
I had lap in March where the removed large cyst which was sticking bowel, ovaries etc together and cleaned me all up inside as cyst had splashed sticky blood all over me. Follow up was end of July, where i seen a different consultant. She explained what i knew they had already done then told me if i suffer anymore problems i have to go to GP and get referred! I was gobsmacked that they dont actually monitor us, it actually made me feel so anxious. Im currently taking combined pill 3 months straight then 7 days break and so on. Definitely helps as i have terrible ovary pain especially at ovulation. I dont get that while on pill. I just feel so insecure about what the future holds and wondering whats happening inside me now.
I have stage 4 endo and had surgery 2 years ago to unstick everything, mine is now on my bowl and bladder and take pain killers constantly. I was told there nothing else they can do and I just have to manage the pain. Mini pill is a good idea as stopping yr periods will stop the endo progressing. I had acupuncture and it really helped reduce pain, 5 sessions and mild pain for about 6 months so acupuncture def worth a try, would recommend it to anyone. Time to book myself back in. U could also try the endo smoothie, that meant to help reduce inflammation and avoid certain foods x
