GnRH drugs & HRT before Hysterectomy

Hi everyone

I’m due to see my consultant next week to discuss starting GnRH drugs to help me and also shrink Endo & cysts before I get surgery in the next 8-10 months - TLH BSO & bowel resection. (2 surgeons)

I’m 42. Got Endo & adeno, large complex Endometriomas, which have compromised my bowel. Also debilitating heavy painful periods which nothing has helped so far inc a TCRE, to remove polyps too. He’s concerned about hyperplasia & the complex cysts, so it’s time for it all to go.

He wants to put me on HRT too during this time but I know I need to be careful with oestrogen. I’ve been reading and I’m just so confused as to what is the best type to take? I’m trying to understand it more so I’m prepared for the appt.

Anyone else been in a similar position that can share their stories or words of wisdom please? I’m feeling very overwhelmed with it all and pretty anxious about surgery inc any potential complications and recovery.
