Does anyone take oral diclofenac? I was prescribed the suppository version earlier in the year and they seemed to work but I can’t bare the thought of using them they are horrible. I’m in so much pain today and to top it off it’s my 21st birthday 😔 just wondering if oral diclofenac works just as good so I can ring my gp tomorrow.

It’s a small tablet, take it with omeprazole or ranitidine if like me you’ve burnt your stomach with painkillers! Think it works just as well if taken as a tablet! Were you prescribed suppositories because of bad nausea? Xx

Oh fab!! I’ll ring the gp today and ask for it to be changed. I don’t know why I was given suppositories I went to my walk in centre who contacted gynae who prescribed them xx

Don’t know why you’d need a suppository unless you were unable to swallow painkillers due to nausea! Hopefully they will just prescribe tablets in future xx

I rang my gp today and spoke to the receptionist who said the tablets are prescribed for me anyway so she doesn’t know why I was given suppositories either. She’s put it through for me and I’m going to get the tablet form on Wednesday xx

I've had diclofenac suppositories before, for a previous vaginal operation. I found them very helpful as they had no side effects and worked well because they concentrated the pain relief in my lower back and abdomen. I've had the tablets also and found they weren't as effective, although that was to manage endo pain which is a completely different ball game...

I wouldn't rule out suppositories, although unpleasant they can be taken with a wide range of other pain killers and produce little to no side effects

Let us know how you get on with the tablets xxx
