I have been booked in to have a diagnostic laparoscopy. The consultant has told me he would be able to treat any Endo he is able to. He also suggested that I have a marina coil fitted.
Why would he do this?
Anyone else had this fitted after the laparoscopy

Yes I had the exact same procedure in February this year. The coil like the pill can be used to surprises symptoms. In some women it reduces pain and heavy bleeding.
Emphasis on the some though. The coil isn't for everyone and I'd have a good read up on this first before consenting to having it put in.
I'm 4 days post lap and had the coil fitted at the same time.
I wasn't sure whether to have it or not but decided to go for it in the end as my surgeon said it can help regulate the oestrogen that affects endo.
When they did my surgery though they decided not to remove the endo they found which was stage 2, and use the coil as treatment. I'm still unsure as to why they did this but it might he worth havif a chat with your surgeon and making sure you know the plan 100% if you go for the coil.
I had the same 2yrs ago. My consultant suggested a mirena coil to help with pain and bleeding, I was initially unsure, spoke to a few people with differing views on it and went back to see a GP about it as I wasn't sure. I did agree to it and am glad I did.
Its not for everyone, some end up not getting periods at all, other get reduced flow/pain, and others it just doesn't help at all. You have to give your body time to accept it, for me that process took 9-10 months, but I now don't get periods.
You have to do what's right for you though, if you're really unsure go speak to your GP, or speak again to your surgeon and find out why he's suggesting it.
