I have my lap In a few weeks with a dr sharma at Ipswich hospital. He has an interest in gynaecological pain but not bsge registered and was told by secretary everyone in their department is competent when dealing with endo - not the reassurance I was really after. Getting awfully nervous now and thinking I wish I had been referred to a specialist centre

Hey, just to let you know- technically you can only be referred to a BSGE centre if you have evidence of stage 3-4 endo, either through a previous lap or ultrasound/mri. So if you don't, you have to be dealt with by general gynaecology first and then if they find extensive endo they will refer you on. It's a bit crap, would be much better if everyone was referred straight to BSGE but unfortunately that's the NHS for you! So don't worry, hope it goes well.
