First Period After Lap

Hi all, had my lap 4 weeks ago now.

Today I am experiencing the onest of my first period after the lap...and wow, this is the worst cramp I have had in my life.

The pain isnt just usual bad cramp, but severe stabbing 'down below' and specifically on the lower right side of my abdomen...literally feels like something is gunna go POP.

I read horror stories about the first period being bad, and didnt believe it until now.

Whats everyone elses experiences been like?

I’m afraid this can be normal. Every surgery I’ve had I’ve had problems either prolonged bleeding or like you. Rest up, pain killers & your trusty hotty. Best wishes

Mine was very painful and very heavy with a lot of clots, I even flooded through my clothes 😔

I now only have one period every 3 months and I must say it’s nice not having periods although I still get Endo flare ups and symptoms, the no bleeding and cramping is great

I’m on day 2 of my first post lap period and I concur I cannot believe the pain I’m in. All across my stomach and back feel like I might pass out!! Very glad I am working at home today I don’t think I would cope if I was in the office...

Sorry to hear you are in great pain. I remember a month after my lap I came on and it was sooo painful! i totally forgot a post lap period was meant to be bad. I remember laying on bathroom floor punching the ground. You are still very raw inside and still healing and everything had to 'move back into place' Put an alarm on for when you need to take painkillers incase you forget use heat or ice whatever feels best and remember you will get through the next few days it is very unpleasant!
