How’s everyone doing?

Two weeks ago I took my first dose of the Prostap 3 DCS and I was told that my next cycle will come. Anyone experiencing mood swings and really bad pains in the stomach?

Hi, I can't speak from personal experience but I've just found out I will be starting on hormone treatment so have been reading about it. Apparently as the body stops producing hormones, there can be a temporary increase in hormones, which can cause an increase in symptoms. I read this is usually for the first 2 weeks and by the 4th week, things should be more regulated.

Hopefully things will start to calm down for you soon.

Thank you, when do yours start?

I hope my mood swings settle down quickly.

I'm not sure. I'd told by the consultant on Thurs and he said my GP will contact me to arrange so I'm expecting the next week or 2. I'm pretty anxious about it. I'll be taking low dose hrt to minimise the effects hopefully.

Hi MeshaW,

Both are known side effects of Prostap treatment as listed on the manufacturer’s detailed Summary of Product Characteristics published here:

medicines.org.uk/emc/produc...

Best thing to do might be to flag up with your GP / Prescribing Specialist that you are experiencing low mood / mood swings and stomach pains. They may improve over the coming weeks, but if they don’t then it is part of your GP / Specialist’s job to help you monitor any Prostap side effects you are experiencing and to help you find an effective way to manage them so that you can get the best therapeutic result from your Prostap treatment.

Best of luck, x X x

Hii,

I’ve got an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday so I’ll let him know about the side effects.

Thank you

Hi. I have monthly Prostap injections and yes I had the first period and after that I didn't had anymore. The only thing I had was hot flushes that now calmed down. They gave me livial tablets for those times but I never had them because it was not to bad.

Anna, please can you tell me roughly how long you waited for your first period after taking prostap

I hope you don't mind me asking but did you also take any form of hrt? I've been told I'll take a low dose to minimise the symptoms.

Hi. I went on that earlier this year and was supposed to have it every month. For 6 months and go to see my consultant but has has since resigned and I don't have anyone at the moment but anyway that injection was a total nightmare I had no quality of life. 3 weeks of he'll. Was in loads of lower body pain front and my back. Was bleeding so heavy i could hardly walk. The headaches were terrible. I ended up at the hospital who said not to have any more injections so I haven't. Good luck with it all I really hope it works for you and feel better soon. X

Hi,

I know with having severe endometriosis causes painful and unbearable menstrual pain but this one is by far the worst I’ve ever felt. Since my injection two weeks ago, my cycle this time is so painful I can’t even sleep, eat, drink and think straight. Right now as we speak, I’m in agony that I’m thinking of going hospital again because this is too much.

I hope things look up for me because this emotional torture.

Hi,

How’s life since you’ve been on Prostap?

I’ve been in and out of hospital since my injection and it’s emotionally draining.

I know pain you are in been on prostap for 9 months now , waiting for my appointment to see my gyno in September. First 4 months on prostap was fine but now I am struggling my hands on a morning are in so much pain and my headaches are very bad . First thing I take on a morning is a pain killers , magnesium , b12 and cod liver tablets. And drink plenty of water which helps me and walking , can't do much exercise now because my bones hurt afterwards . Had hrt didn't won't for me I felt sick and dizzy . I am just hanging in there it i get my date for my opreation then I can come off prostap, only positive about being on this is no periods and very heavy bleeding.

Good luck and hang in there , just keep thinking you will get there in the end and keep going back to the doctors x
