I had an ‘interesting’ episode yesterday where my pain was beyond the help of codeine and I was glued to the toilet in fear something might pass and reduce the pain. I have been bleeding daily for 5 weeks despite taking the pill (Zoely). Then something did pass, it felt huge and I was so shocked at the feeling and the size so I took a closer look... I have since found out that it was a membranous dysmenorrhea, which is an endometrium cast. It actually looked like a fetus, so you can imagine how freaked out I was.
Now, apparently this is very rare but I wondered if anyone has experienced this before?
I have had 3 surgeries on my Endo which was diagnosed in 2014. I also was diagnosed with PCOS in 2010. I am now awaiting my 4th surgery for Endo treatment.
Thanks,
Hannah

Hi hannah. I have passed a large tissue mass once which I kept to take to my GP but my husband disposed of it before I could. I was at work and felt contractions happening and then very sharp pain and felt something come out of my body. Like you I was shocked at what I saw and seriously thought I had miscarried. I get a lot of clots when I bleed but this was different and coloured differently. Hasnt happened again yet, but you never know what might come next with endo. Not I pleasant experience and I empathise. Apparently nothing to worry about but was very painful.
Thanks for responding. I’m glad I’m not the the only who had that experience.
The doctor I saw said it was very rare and there’s not a lot online about it.
Did your GP say anything about it to you even though you couldn’t show them what is was? Was it related to anything you were also experiencing at the time?
