Hello

I had a diagnostic lap where they removed stage 1 endio and adhesions where my ovary was stuck to my bowel about 6 weeks ago and I feel physically Ill still

I am constantly feeling so tired and struggling to keep my eyes open at work, I feel groggy and have a fuzzy head and don't feel myself since my operation. I feels tightness pain still nesr my belly button incision and feel fluey

I was told I woukd feel better after 2 weeks however the pain has gone yet I feel worse.

I have a doctor's appointment next week however don't want them to brush me off.

Has anyone else felt like this and is this nornal after surgery?

Thanks Sabrina x

Hey, feeling horrible for about 2 to 4 months is about normal - so you may feel a bit out of sorts for a while.

The speed people recover is unique, and depends on so many factors; age, fitness level, health before op, activity during recovery, anaesthetic, length of op, what happened during op, healing insides, setbacks such as colds / infection, stress, work type, work patterns, roles at home etc. you get the idea.

It may be an idea at your doc apt to discuss any vitamins etc you could take to help recovery and tiredness - your body may just need a boost.

You've had a lot done when you think about the op itself - anaesthetic, tube down throat, incision, inflated, poked around, had stuff removed, op site inside washed, deflated, stitched up, tube out, come round. All those can take a while to recover.

It took me about 2 months for the tiredness to go and 3 months before I was almost 100%.

Hi

Thank you for your reply. I am currently taking

Vitamin b6

Vitamin D

Evening primrose

Milk thistle

As I have researched and heard they help with endio. I am hoping they help and will see if my doctor recommends anything else.

I have also read having ovary suppression for 3 months helps as well so I am going to speak to him about that as I have been told they want to do that eventually.

X

I’m around the same recovery too and only returned to work yesterday on phased hours & I know that’s enough for me right now. My GP did remind me last week that I’ve had major surgery and she actually advised me to have longer off, I kind of shrugged it off and went on my way.

Getting back to some normality is actually helping me. I’m still on quite some strong meds and lots of caffeine to get me through, along with a few naps here and there.

Listen to your body and do what you feel is right/manageable x

I went back after 2 and a bit weeks and wish I stayed off longer. I'm still getting my symptoms I has previously to my operation. I hope i get some answers from my doctor on Thursday.

I hope you find going back to work Ok and heal soon. I researched caffeine to be bad for endio so I try not to drink too much and instead have ginger shots and tumeric shots instead x
