Unfortunately tramadol is an opiate ie from the heroin family hence why your itching. You see herion addicts do this. Speak to your gp there are plenty alternatives until you get the right pain management.
Sometime the pharmacists are knowledgeable too and suggest alternatives.
Good luck x
Try an antihistamine to stop the itching. I take cetirizine or loratidine and they are about 80p for 14 (one a day) from Home Bargains. I buy the generic not the branded as they are a rip off!
I find that Tramadol makes my brain go fast, great if I need to do paperwork at work, crap if I need to sleep so I don't take it after about 3pm. I tend to take CoCodamol first thing then assess later if it is going to be Tramadol or more Cocodamol to get me through the rest of the day. Worth noting you can take ibuprofen as well so I sometimes use that with the CoCodamol.
Unfortunately it’s a real side effect to tramadol, but then again I’d still rather have the itching than the excruciating pain so I tend to look at it from that perspective! It also knocks me out at night allowing me to try and get some sleep through the worst days. You get rid of one pain to get another sadly. Hope someone can suggest something helpful for you x
