I get terrible period pain and can’t cope without painkillers. I literally have to take them every few hours for the first 2 days of my period. I wanted to know what painkillers you all take. I currently take ibuprofen for period pain. I need something stronger.

I take ibuprofen and was advised by my gp and my endo specialist that you can preload ibuprofen and it works better that way before the pain. So take it three days before your period starts, the full stated dose, and then four days during your period, it shouldn't be taken for more than 7 days without gp follow-up. You can then take paracetamol at the same times as ibuprofen during your period, and use that for any lasting pain.
I take omazeprole for my stomach (not a painkiller) the same days with ibuprofen as ibuprofen makes me feel sicky, and have actually found that the omazeprole actually helps my endo symptoms as the sicky bit is also what I get during my period from the amount of pain.
There are stronger painkillers out there, so it's worth talking to your gp / pain specialist / pain management clinic. I won't take anything stronger as the ibuprofen is already causing me kidney damage which can be irreversible (I have yearly blood tests) and the paracetamol can result in an inflamed liver (again shows up in yearly blood tests). So it's a balancing act between painkillers, level of pain and other issues - the other issues most people aren't aware of because doctors don't tell us, plus I guess we don't look into it
