Does anyone else have short periods but have endo?
I’m waiting for a diagnosis but now I’m worried as this month it was only 3 days long but the pain was awful (it doesn’t response to painkillers) and still have cramps now and that dull ache which is there all month.

Yeah mines only last 3 days and they are regular, i use a app called flow it’s soo good and helpful when you have hospital app’s and op ‘s coming up , as they do ask that in every app , or pre op , I was diagnosed stage 4 endo and it’s pretty much everywhere awaiting my op my pain is every single day a lot worse when ovulating and a couple day’s before period is the worst.. good luck for tomorrow it’s honestly nothing to worry about they do a few tests and ask few questions and it’s usually nurse’s that do the pre op , I was a bit longer on mine only because my heart rate and blood pressure were soo high they sent me for a ecg and wasn’t allowed home till it came down I sense up worrying more about not being aloud out than anything else lucky it came down a bit and they were happy for me to leave .. don’t be nervous at all 😘 xx
Yeah I use an app called Clue which is pretty good. I guess endo is so varied, that’s why it’s hard to diagnose etc. Plus the stress of knowing my pre op is today and the surgery is at the end of month may be affecting my period as well. But the pain is definitely still there and ovulation is painful for me and sex.
Do you ever get a dull achey/ heavy feeling in like your ovary area? Xx
Good luck for today, you will be absolutely fine, yeah every day and pulling and pushing feeling I can’t hardly sit down as every time I sit down I feel like something is going right up! It’s jus awful hopefully in your op they can’t diagnose you and remove endo if needed , I was devasted about my diagnosis I knew I had it as the pain was jus horrific but I got a shock when they told me how severe it was , because i also have it in my bowel they were not allowed to touch anything they took pics and I had mri my meeting should have been last week so I’m now waiting on my date for my big op. I’m totally contradicting myself here but I’m glad I got my diagnosis but was devasted how bad it was.. believe in your body you know the pain your in .. and reading your posts you are in a lot of pain.. good luck today let us know how you get on xx
the main part of my period (full bleeding days) last 3 days, which is a lot better than it used to be before my lap to remove a lot of endo (used to be 6 or 7) but the pain is still awful - my doctor suggested preloading NSAIDs eg ibuprofen before periods when there's no pain as that type of painkiller works better before the pain. So I start taking it 3 to 5 days before and then for the 3 days of my period, that helps take the edge off the pain.
I'm looking into alternatives for managing the pain, like physio and acupuncture. I already do some yoga and relaxation; I find that helps as it makes me more aware of parts of my body so I know where the pain is, when it's coming, then I work on feeling relaxed and less stressed about it - mindfulness. It's not for everyone.
hope you find something that helps, we all need a normal life!! xx
I have endo and have 3 day periods very light usually and not really painful - my pain was throughout my cycle and not related to my period really. I was on the pill for 16 years so I reckon that masked my symptoms earlier x
