I went back into hospital and they don't want to remove it as it's advancing fast and I'm so young all other options have failed so far ... I feel like I'm losing my brain dealing with this... I've been bleeding for 15 days and they have said it can take 8 months to settle

I really feel for you, it took 3 months for my coil to settle. Im guessing you take pain meds? I took codeine and Naproxen but it didn't help much but it's still worth taking.

In the first 3 months I was very unwell and I bled for 3 weeks out of the month although one month my period lasted 6-8 weeks and was heavy from start to finish with big clots. I also developed terrible hormonal acne which had started to clear up but its back with a vengeance! (Now 6monthe since coil was fitted).

I spoke to other women who urged me to persevere and I'm glad I did (although it was incredibly tough). My periods now last for 2 weeks but I bleed every 6 weeks. My flow is very light (it used to be very very heavy) and it has reduced my endo pain. I still experience severe pain but it's now more manageable so I can function and go to work. Before I would miss work for the first 3-4 days of my period because the pain was so severe but now I don't experience the constant debilitating pain, instead I get flashes of pain which I find slightly easier to cope with.

The coil just doesn't agree with everyone. Our endo is so individual to us there's not one treatment that will suit us all. There's no shame in saying it's not working and you want to take it out. It may help reduce the growth of your endo but you know what's best for you and you know your own body. I said I would wait 3 months because I was told things would improve by this point and for me it did. It doesn't help every symptom, for me it's highlighted how bad my fatigue is but overall it has made things better.

I hope this helps in some small way. I've got my fingers crossed for you that it settles down and you start to feel the benefits but if it's too much you've got to do what's best for you. Good luck 💛
