To my complete amazement the gynae admissions team phoned me this morning to offer me a surgery date 9th July!
It was an eight month wait but because my symptoms are so severe and my GP wrote to my endometriosis specialist itβs been seen as urgent!
Iβm bit worried about how my business manager will react with regarding time off work. As insane as it sounds I might to ask if my endo nurse can write to her π³
This will be my third laparoscopy in 13 months π³
I would definitely recommend those on long waiting lists like mine with bad symptoms to get the GP to write to the surgeon it does work π xoxo
That's great to hear, my waiting list from referral is 12-13 months but it is for a hysterectomy for severe endo and might involve bowel surgery so have an extra surgeon on standby so will be a long op. Can I just ask, did you have any scan results to help with this or was it a description of your symptoms by your GP?
Oh my goodness what a long waiting list and i thought I had it bad being quoted 8 months!
I had no scan or any tests the GP took notes when I saw her and from that wrote to my endo consultant who has issued the letter to the admissions team and offered me a date within just over 2 weeks time!
Without that letter there is no way Iβd been offered a dates so soon.
Thanks jess1981, it's because I insisted it was done by a particular, experienced surgeon and he has a v long waiting list because a large amount of people are asking to be on itx
If you have horrendous symptoms then Iβd still see your GP and get them to write to your chosen consultant; he can place you on a urgent list and get a date sooner.
I was told it would be a minimum of 30 weeks from my referral but the letter has changed that as Iβm now seen as an urgent case.
You have nothing to lose by trying to get bumped up the list xoxo
