*Update from previous post* received date for excision surgery, I love my consultant!

So after been told I'll be waiting until at least October for excision surgery, I emailed my consultants secretary who passed my email onto my consultant. He then got in touch with my gp who wrote a letter to my surgeon, who then got in touch with the waiting list to tell them to give me the next available date which is the 10th September. I am so relieved to have a date and I'm praying that I will see some improvement in my symptoms after suffering so many years not being believed! xx

Kind of the same happened to me, I was supposed to wait until October, I went to see my GP because I have not been coping well with my symptoms and 4 days later I got a letter with my date: I'm having my lap the same day as you! So strange! It turns out my GP had a chat with my consultant who then got in touch with the admissions team! Xx

Have you being diagnosed? It's a relief isn't it, so glad you got an earlier date too and how weird that they're on the same date! Goodluck for your lap xx

No I have not been diagnosed, I did have a first lap in December last year under general gynae which came back clear but I was told afterwards that they did the bare minimum in terms of diagnosing anything (didn't take any biopsy or anything when they should have etc). Because my pain and other symptoms kept getting worse and worse I paid for a private consultation with an endo specialist who also works on the NHS who suspects bowel endo, including on my appendix and after my consultation he referred me back to his NHS clinic as I was self funded. Have you been diagnosed? Xx

Hopefully you will get a diagnosis this time as even though nobody wants to be diagnosed with endo it's a reason for the pain and hopefully the start of improvement pain wise. I was diagnosed with stage 3 endo on 18th june and was told I'd be waiting 6 weeks which then turned into October the earliest, but now I have it on 10th September which is a 12 week wait overall but I'm happy with that xx

Yeah he couldn't remove any during my first lap as it was too extensive, thank you ☺ xx
