Got my operation date so hopefully I'll finally get some answers

Got my operation date today after ringing the waiting list number, it's on 18th june so hopefully I'll be able to get some answers after years of struggling with this pain! Weirdly enough I'm more excited than nervous cos I know that this time next month I'll finally know if I have endometriosis or not x

I had my pre op on the 3rd may so will have been 6 and a half weeks, have you heard anything yet? xx

No, my doctors are being really arsey with me and not letting me see the letter the doctor wrote to my gynae. The secretary has to give permission for me to see it and she’s not in.

I don’t even know if my gynae has replied or not xx

I just received a copy of my letter through the post this morning, did your gynae not send you a copy? xx

My doctors won’t send me anything with the secretaries permission, which is really strange but she’s not in so I don’t know when I’ll get the letters. I feel like I’m in the dark as to what’s going on. Xx

It doesn't say much in the letter tbh it just basically says what you discussed in the appointment you had and what the next step is, although it is your medical records so you shouldn't even need permission to see it xx

I just wanna know what my doctor and gynae have said as they are trying to speed me up the waiting list xx

Your gp can't move you up the waiting list so the letter won't contain anything about your waiting time I'm afraid, I do recommend though that you ring the gynaecology waiting list number and they will tell you where abouts on the waiting list you are. That's what I did today xx

My gp was certain about trying to get my gynae to move me up haha so he’s probably just lied to me. I’ve rang the waiting list number and they wouldn’t tell me xx

You're not under the care of your gp but your consultant can move you up the list, I rang the waiting list number this morning and they said I was the next on the list to get a date so she got one for me. How long have you been on the list for? xx

About 8/9 weeks now but it’s a 23 week waiting list here xx

Yeah it’s just frustrating as I’m always in some kind of pain and have a painful heaviness feeling in my lower stomach xx

It's awful isn't it, I started my period yesterday so not feeling good at all. Fingers crossed it won't be too much longer for you xx

Yeah I thought so haha but apparently the secretary has to give permission as she hasn’t rang me. I’ll go and complain Monday morning

Thank you ☺ they told me 4-6 weeks at my pre op but this dates perfect as it means I can finish my course first without having to take any time off x
