So a few weeks back I had a laparoscopy, to cut things short I wasn’t given much information nor did I get to see the specialist himself, but they told me that there was no endo. I was fobbed off as IBS even though they told me they could not see any issues with my bowels. (My bowel issues only started at 16, my period pain was horrible since I was 11).
Fast forward to now I am on the 14th day of my period. It’s not heavy but I do keep getting horrible pain which I had gotten before I had the coil inserted (it’s still in). I’m extremely tired, in constant pain, nausea is a constant too and the bleeding gets heavier when I get the pain. I don’t understand what is going on or if this is okay.
I am seeing my GP tomorrow but I am afraid I will just be fobbed off again. I just wanted to know if anyone experienced this after a laparoscopy? Thanks xx

Hey, really sorry you're going through all this. How long ago did you have the laporoscopy and do you know if it was general gynae?
I don't want to make things feel worse for you but I think it's important to have all the info. A laporoscopy showing no signs of endo doesn't categorically mean that you don't have it. It just means they didn't find any. If it's not an endo specialist, then they may have more difficulty finding it.
I had really bad gastro issues and fatigue for 2 years, was looked into quite a bit with gastro but eventually fobbed off with ibs- a useless diagnosis I've had since age 11. A few months later, a new GP did a pelvic exam and thought she felt something so I got referred to gynae. I was reluctantly offered a laporoscopy to rule out endo. The surgery found 2 large fibroids but no endo. I'm not sure if any biopsies were taken. I was just told again that I had ibs. My gastro issues settled after being on the pill for 3 months in the lead up the the lap so I just accepted the discharge. I was only left with the fatigue to deal with.
Fast forward 2 years and my fatigue was still awful and I started to get hip and back pain. After seeing physio for a while, arthritis was queried so I was referred to orthopaedics and sent for an mri. I just got the mri results 2 weeks ago and they found severe endometriosis throughout my pelvis! It is likely that I have had it all along.
Since coming on here, I've learned that unfortunately, a clear lap but later finding you do have endo, is not that uncommon and seems to be more likely if you see general gynae rather than an endo specialist. There are endo specialist centres throughout the country.
I think it might be worthwhile getting referred back to gynae again?
And maybe the coil isn't helping things? I don't know anything about the coil but I've seen other people mentioning having difficulty tolerating it.
