Hi, has anyone tired using diet as a form of pain management? I've read some of the info and started to put some of it into practise I just wanted to know if anyone has tried it and how successful it was.

Endometriosis Diet
Hi Kathy
Yes, i find that going on an endo diet do help (no matter how small it is, you will see a slight difference), although it depends on each individual so i can't say it will definitely change your endo pain.
I suffer from really bad lower back pain/ cramps/ pelvis pain having diagnosed with stage 3-4 endo, where my uterus, bowel, ovaries and womb are all stuck together. So i have been trying to find ways of reducing my pain, since there is no other way to get rid of the endo tissues.
I've been going on a gluten, lactose, soya and processed food free diet for the last 3 months, I cut out diary completely when I am near/ on my period, and have found that although i do get pains when my endo tissues flares up, the pains are getting more manageable, and last shorter. They come and go, but defo better than before.
I believe this has something to do with what i have been eating, as before then I would eat anything and everything, but my pains can be so bad that I would vomit, have numb pins & needle hands, cold sweats, and in agony whenever my pain flares up, especially when it is close to my period. So maybe it is worth a try? Hope it helps you too. x
Thanks for this. I'm about a week into trying the diet. I'm trying to decide how strict to be as it's quite restrictive if I follow everything. I had a laparoscopy 6 months ago and am in a lot of pain already so I need something more long term and would prefer to take some control myself. I'm just worried that I might make all these changes and still end up with the pain.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my post. x
I went gluten free and it has been a godsend. I also take multi vitamins. I recommend you read Dian Shepperdson Mills book A guide to healing through nutrition x
