Yes great success- I'm Vegan. I Cut out the following;

Meat/all dairy/sugar/wheat/gluten.

My bleed used to be 14-16 days long, I've been vegan for years. I now bleed 4-5 days, symptoms are 90% improved, with 1st & 2nd day uncomfortable/sore but bare-able in comparison to the horrific pains I'd get in every part of me, especially pelvic/legs/lower back. Now I've; NO headaches, migraines,reduced bloating, diahorrea, bone pain, muscle aches, dry skin, asthma & allergies reduced, best bit is no stabbing/twisting attacks & horrendous symphony of rip/knife-like pains -no more. It's now just tender. I can sleep through a whole night now, the agony it used to wake me up and sleep deprive me.My exhaustion is now just 1 or 2 days - used to last 2-3 weeks. My blood is red and happier smoother - used to be black, dry and miserable looking. Clots and heaviness of bleed all gone. I'd be forever needing to pee. This has stopped. My period brain fog has gone ( I'd go a bit slower minded on my monthly - couldn't think of basic words or add up) my memory & mood dramatically improved. I used to cry or be about to cry, feel on the edge and always cold, no longer. Infact I even forget I'm on a period on days 3,4,5 - unheard of many years ago.

Buy Dian Mills(?) book on endometriosis key to nutrition. It's superb. I lost about 2st in weight - I had it to lose though - now I'm a healthy size, and since being vegan I look loads younger ( so I'm told ;) the important thing is you must supplement b12 & d by Solgar and have enough protein. Sunwarrior blend is awesome. and consume lots of fruit & veg organic & water. Add to it a basic multivit, get all supps in liquid as it's easier for gut to absorb, floradix do a nice multi-vit. And Udos oils 3,6,9. Vitamin c powder 1000mg . Glucosamine liquid from healthspan. Plus glutamine powder Lamberts & htp tablets & coq10 have been god sends ( I can only get them in tablet). I cut out out all plastics, parabens, bhp, sulphates too, so only natural shampoos/soaps/make-up/perfumes/harsh household cleaners/ Dr Bronners & faith in nature/mineral makeup brands are good. Theres a natural alternative for everything - more expensive but worth it.And I do yoga, meditation, -visualise your womb daily a happy healthy magic place, deep breathing when pain gets bad, and i get a holistic massage once a week. And I go to a steam room at my gym, plus excersise 3 times per week only 20-30 mins with weights & yoga Or what ever I can fit in. I got accupunture weekly too for about 6 months/when I could. You may think I've got loads of money and spare time - not by any means. I just made one small change every week/month as to what I could afford and it slowly built up. I work full time too - now I'm self employed yoga teacher. Endo demands a lot of your time in the endurance and therefore healing takes time - but you can reclaim it. I feel my efforts have all been worth it - I no longer dread my cycle and I have more of my "me" back and more of a life. Good luck - stay as positive as you can - you can beat it x

Thank you for this it is really useful. I have bought key to nutrition book already. Like you I have started with making the changes to my diet, cutting out diary and wheat/gluten. It's too early to tell if it has made a difference but I'm hoping for good result.

Hi

and don't forget to cut out/avoid foods high in phyto-oestrogens (plant oestrogens) as well: soya (soy, TVP, soya flour, soy milk, tofu etc) and peanuts.

Other nuts are good however. Peanuts are (like the soya beans) part of the legume family and are not 'real' nuts. And be a little bit careful with other members of the legume family as many have a relatively high incidence of phyto-oestrogens; peas, beans, green beans and so forth.

A majority of factory made bread in the UK contain soya flour (a very healthy, nutritious and CHEAP replacement of wheat flour..).

Good luck xx

Sorry only just seen yr reply - I promise it makes a huge-huge-huge difference. It's seems overwhelming but bit by bit it can be do-able - try sticking to it best you can - I wish more of us knew about really - keep going with it x just make sure you supplement x

Hi, I'm hoping that you are finding the new diet helpful. I have managed my endo for 23 years through diet. When I was 3 and 4 months in to the new way of eating my endo was off the scale as it was screaming out for all the stuff it was being starved of. The next month however was a dream as the body starts benefitting from all the loveliness you are giving it. If you feel like it's not working, please, please stick with it, it will work. Hopefully you can already feel it working. Although it's really strict at first (I was incredibly strict with myself for 1 year, then eased off a wee bit). You'll get to know what are really bad triggers - a toasted teacake will affect me for 2 days if I've been really slack. It's so much better for you than drugs and coils and such.

Good luck x
