I have tried it. It did not help much with my pain but i did feel a bit more energised when i was on it. The basic idea is to avoid gluten, diary, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, processed food and meat (not 100% sure abt meat). I read dian mills’ book and tried to do everything on it including the supplements. It was quite overwhelming to be honest and expensive too. I tried it for one year but now i follow a much more lenient version of it. I just avoid processed food, alcohol and too much processed sugar and try to avoid gluten when i can. In general, i do feel better overall if i eat well instead of loads of junk. I have the below suggestions for you:

1) There is a free ebook on the amazon.com kindle library about the diet. I dont remember the name but if you search for endometriosis diet, you should find it. It is a very small book, easy to read and gives you a basic idea about the diet. Even if you dont have a kindle install the kindle app and read it. There are also loads of good infographics on pinterest.

2) Keep a food diary. Try to record what you eat and your pain levels, see if anything is making your pain better or worse.

3) Start by going gluten free. Apparently this helps a lot of women. If that doesnt help then try avoiding the other things.

4) Dont do the supplements. I found through experience that self supplementing is a bad idea. Maybe just stick to a good multivitamin. If you want to add supplements, maybe talk to your doctor first

Good luck

Thanks so much for your advise - I’m trying to give the diet a go to see if it makes me feel better. I’m struggling to sleep and that makes my cravings for junk food worse. I’m hardly going out much anyway as not felt up to it so my alcohol intake has dropped and Hardly ever have a drink. I’ve tried to only have the odd decaf drink a day. Its the wheat diary and sugar which will be hard

I read in the book that going gluten free helps 80% of women with endo. I dont know how true that is bcoz it did not help me that much but i’d say it is worth a shot. Try giving up only wheat and gluten for a week and see if it helps. If not then you can try going diary and sugar free. There are loads of gluten free breads and other products in the market now. There is also a good recipe book for endometriosis sufferers, i will have a look and let you know the name if i find it.

Thank you - yes I think I need to try giving up one at a time and see if I notice a difference

Hello, for me the big thing that helped was cutting out on coffee( I always had pains with gas and number 2 but this is almost gone )and soya( i am a vegetarian so I ate a lot of soyabased veggie meat) eating less sugar and more ecofriendly now

Don’t know if it really because of those things as I also stopped being on the pill and somehow this reduced some of the other pains as well.

But am just glad it got better now and helped me to get more energy

Thank you. I’ve been shopping today and stocked up on healthy food. Hopefully this will start to help me. I used to drink lots of tea but I had the odd cup of decaf now. Glad to hear you found an improvement and gained more engery. Hope your endo journey is going ok x

Thank you I hope it may help you too :) I too drink a lot of tea but I stick to ‘’real tea’’ so not bags but from stores but fresh dried camomile and rooibos tea etc etc :)
