Hi there

If you haven’t already, I would advise that you do some reading on this pill and it’s side effects so that you are aware of the risks involved; especially the increase risk of blood clots.

I was prescribed this but I refused to take it.

Hi

Yes I have done my research. I wont take anything before researching it. I have had it in the past and it was fine but I feel so strange and sick after taking the 1st pill that I am not going to carry on taking it. I just dont know what alternative to go with as I am so sensitive to hormones.

I have the same problem. I am quite sensitive to lost medications. I was on Microgynon a few years ago and I felt really bad body aches and sickness; I was only on them for three days. When I stopped taking them I was fine. Perhaps you can stop for a few days and see if the sickness continues or not?

Hi hun. I have stopped and still feel sick but not as bad as yesterday. It was horrible and my emotions are everywhere. I just cant handle them. I wish I didnt have to take any hormones but endo is a pain in the ass and as far as I know its the only thing that helps.

Hi,

How are you feeling now? I feel the same way, I am not keen on synthetic hormones.

There are variety of pills available so it’s just about finding which one is bests suited to you.

Really hope you find a solution!

My experience with yasmin was pretty bad. I was bloated, nauseous, and cried over almost anything. I switched to Yaz and it worked better, managed my period pains for a year. December I decided to stop and started losing a lot of hair and am undertaking some treatment for it to this day. I think hormonal pills are all with side effects, it's important to give a few a try until you find one with the least or most bearable side effects. Good luck and stay strong!

Thanks for your reply. On day1 I was experiencing the worst nausea and my mood was so strange I felt like I wasnt on earth. I have broken out in spots already too 😑. Think i'm going to have to try something else.

I was in Yasmin years ago and it was hands down the best pill I’ve had. I was gutted when a locum doctor came in and changed it.

I think with any pill though, I always found it normal to not feel great the first couple of days as my body was trying to get used to it. How long did you give it to settle down? xx

I've been on Yasmin since October 2017 and was on yasminelle for years before that without any problems. It took about 4 months for my bleeding to settle but other than that it's been fine. I think everyone reacts differently to pills so if you don't feel comfortable being on it I would go to your gp. After reading posts on this about blood clots I was terrified so I went and ask my gp and she said there's other pills that are much worse for blood clots than Yasmin and once you're on it three months your risk is greatly reduced so since I had been on it three months at that stage I've stayed on it. Everyone is different though and if you're concerned in anyway definitely change it as you know your body best. Hope things improve xx

Yasmin is higher risk for blood clots as the progesterone in it is drospirenone. Thete has been law suits in USA I read about online. I was not comfortable taking it. I'm on mini pill now as can't have combi due to migraines anyway. Just in more pain at mo with mini pill hoping it will settle x

I did take Yasmin for a while with some mixed results. I actually highly recommend Cerazette - I was mostly symptom-less (and period - less) for several years whilst I was taking that. Just experienced the migraines but no other endo issues. It was a rude awakening when I came off it and started getting symptoms again full force. Hope that helps, good luck to you.

Hi hun. My gynis associate recommended cerazette for me today. I'm unsure about taking anything though as at first my gyni told me I had endo but today they showed the results from my opp and she said I had no endo..However I dont know what it is causing my painful heavy periods. Ive had them from day1 of having periods.

Well, endo or no endo, I can categorically tell you that cerazette will help with painful periods. I recommend wholeheartedly to help you have a more normal life.

Also, there seems to be a lot of discussion on here about the quality of gyn care and laps, and how sometimes it's hard to find the endo. I'm not a doctor myself obvs and don't wish to make light of your experiences and diagnosis (or absence thereof) but you may want to bear in mind the possibility that you do have it and they just didn't locate it?

Best of luck to you, I hope you feel better soon.
