IVF started yesterday 15-20% odds trying to remain optimistic, it would be great if I could hear some stories of women defying the odds. I am very number oriented and 15-20% isn't very high, I have had three operations lost an ovary and its been three years in waiting for this first round and I'm worried I still have endo cysts after seven months of Zoldex injections, I know they're going to grow with all this stimulation....just hope that some eggs do too!
Just after some feel good stories to keep me positive. I just feel like the horse no one wants to bet on at the moment. I want to know all the torture I've endured is worth the shot?

I can give you a positive I was that horse 😃, stage 4 endometriosis with complications I won't bore you with, at the time of my last surgery (2017) the bsge specialist said I was one of the worst he'd seen especially as all my scans had been normal, I was only having a tricky cyst removed. Anyway, ivf was are only option and one they said could cause problems and a low chance of it working ( sorry they didn't give us a %). I was very apprehensive about the medication but was surprised to find that other than a bit of soreness I was fine, my cyst did grow but not much and I produced more eggs than anyone could have guessed ( my right ovary isn't supposed to work but did). For us it was a short cycle and I was carefully monitored throughout. I was very chilled out about, didn't have any expectations of it working but we wanted to try. I'm now 23 weeks after our first round much to everyone's surprise ( especially the specialist!). I was fortunate not to be working and I rested and didn't overdo it at all. We only told my parents and a very close friend as I didn't want the hassle of people asking about it. We have been through alot since I was diagnosed in September 2016 and have been told all along try but don't get your hopes up, but it can happen.
Oh how wonderful it worked for you first time round congratulations!
I probably pushed for the % as I can rationalise better with figures. I won't have the nice surprise of an extra ovary unfortunately but it might still happen for us.
I'm on day two of 450IU Menopur a day at the moment till next Tuesday, then I have the first scan. They might stop, carry on as they are or add another drug. I wouldn't mind but it takes ages to draw but as it's four vials mixed together....I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Tilly floss just wanted to let you know I had the embryo transferred on Saturday and now I have a nervous two week wait 🤞 had seven embryos frozen so I'm pleased 😌 x
hi. I was only thinking about you earlier! How are you feeling? The two week wait is soooo long🙉. I tried to keep myself distracted but didn't over do it if that makes sense. Having 7 frozen is brilliant 😊 you must be very pleased. Hope you found the process ok, I was expecting it to be far worse than it actually was I think all the endometriosis procedures prepared me well for. Good luck I've got everything crossed for you. Xx
Haha yes I found the same thing, I imagined it would be all agony and it wasn't bad. They did knock me out to harvest, I was sore for a couple of days but was happy for the transfer on Saturday. So yep I have everything crossed, thank you xxx
hi. How you doing? Yes I was expecting it to be awful from friends who have been through it and it really wasn't, as you just a sore a few days after egg collection. I was surprised how knocked out the sedition was, thought id have some awareness but I don't remember a thing! When have you got to test? Got everything crossed for you. Xx
hi. I'm so sorry it didn't work this time for you, I hope you can keep positive and take the opportunity to look after yourself. At least with having some frozen you won't have to go through a full fresh cycle. Have you got a friend or family member who knows? My parents and a close friend knew and I found it helpful talking to someone other than my hubby. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend. Xx
