Did anyone have dreams about their lap surgery? I'm still waiting for a date, and now I'm convincing myself I'm fine and it will be a waste of time. Last night I dreamt I was in hospital, they went to take me in, I ran away, then they said fine we will cancel it, then I changed my mind and tried to get back to the hospital before 8pm to get there?! Then they didn't find anything during the lap like I thought...

I have my diagnostic lap on Saturday, and I've been having nightmares about it for at least a month! Last night's was me and a load of other women on a conveyor belt, being operated on really quickly. The surgeon showed me my insides and said "look, there's nothing" (don't ask me how I could see - I was also standing up looking at myself being operated on...dream logic is weird!) and then I woke up.
Weird what the brain does when you're feeling anxious about something. I've all but convinced myself they won't find anything and I'll just continue to be in pain. Glad it's not just me that's having the weird dreams though!
for me my worst pain flare-ups are in my period, and my last two haven't been that bad as I have added in some supplements and pre-loaded painkillers, so now I'm convinced I don't have it and I'm just a massive princess... x
Every time I don't have pain, I feel like a massive fraud. Even if it's just an hour in the morning. And I have that worry too...maybe I just have a really low tolerance to pain/am being super dramatic? Hope not. I guess we'll both find out soon!
P.s. Is your username a reference to the Frank Turner song?
Hi foursimplewords! I worried about this a little bit too before my diagnostic laparoscopy. I was worrying about the pain and what was causing it and then I was worrying that it was nothing and I was making it up!!
Brains are indeed odd! My anxiety was sky high due to the chronic pain and not being listened to. This made the pain worse. So, what I would say is the mind is very powerful and maybe you could try imagining the operation being successful and that they find out what is wrong, whether that is endo or something else.
So what if they say you don't have endo? You deserve to know either way! Hope your date comes through soon
Yes, I was diagnosed following a laparoscopy and cystoscopy in November last year (after around 15 years of complaining about abdominal pain and pain during sex) but it was more adhesions and a few nodules. I have just had excision surgery and adhesiolysis 3 weeks ago!
