I’m wondering if I should go back on the pill to try and manage my endo symptoms, I haven’t been on it for nearly 10 years now. In that time my hubby and I tried to conceive naturally, realised that wasn’t going to happen, was diagnosed with endo (despite first going to the doctors in my teens and a number of times between then and finally being diagnosed at 35..I’m 40 now) I had a laparoscopy where extensive endo was found in numerous places, we then had 4 cycles of IVF, 3 of which didn’t work, one did but resulted in a chemical pregnancy 😞 we then got to the point where, despite desperately wanting a baby, we just couldn’t put ourselves through it anymore.
Anyway, since our last ivf cycle last May, my endo symptoms have been very unpredictable..some months definitely there but lower level and manageable but my most recent period was absolutely horrendous, the most excruciating pain I’ve had in some time.
I’m wondering if the pill is the answer..I’m not against having another laparoscopy but my symptoms returned after only 6 months after the last one. I’ve also been on prostap twice and as well as not being a long term solution, the side effects were also pretty unpleasant.
My experience of the pill is obviously a little outdated, I am concerned about side effects but I can’t cope with such extreme pain (as well as a number of other symptoms) can anyone offer any advice? x

Hi, I'm really sorry to hear your struggle and well done for being so strong. I'm in similar position,me and my husband tried for baby for years and it never happened. We too have got to the point where we want to draw a line under it and try and get on with our life. After trying everything holistic (diet, essential oils, exercise etc) I still felt I was fighting a losing battle and got very down with the pain and heavy periods every month. I've recently made the decision to go back on the pill as I remember 10 years ago it did help. Fingers crossed, I will let you know how I get on xx
Hi HTee, thanks for your reply..we sound like we’re in a very similar position. Definitely let me know how you get on and I really hope it works for you xx
I was on the mini pill for more than 3 years, I get mood swings worse around the time I would prob be due my period. Anyway came off the pill in December as I was still in pain and put in quite a bit of weight. Anyway went back on it this month as me and my husband both agree my pain was less on the pill and he says he can put up with my mood swings. Think anything is worth a try to get less pain
Hi Michelle thanks for your reply, sorry to hear you’ve struggled too. It’s a lose lose with endo isn’t it, feels like you have to choose the lesser of two evils 🙁 I’m also concerned about weight gain & mood swings. I hope it works out better for you xx
