Hey
He shouldn’t be saying it’s your only option that’s forcing you in to taking it which isn’t right. I was offered it and turned it down - you just have to do what’s right for you xxx
Hiya,
I'm currently on Zoladex, getting 3rd monthly shot this week (I'm on a course of 4 before surgery) and I have to say I nearly didn't go through with it based on some of the horror stories I'd read of other people's experiences with it, but I figured I've got nothing to lose and if the first one was terrible I wouldn't continue with it and actually I'm really glad I did go through with it.
The injection itself I found a little sore but really not that bad, and in terms of side effects I've had a few hot flushes, couple of headaches and some very hormonal moments where I've either been on the brink of tears or fuming over the smallest thing, but that's really only happened a few times.
For me personally it's really been worth it, I've got adenomyosis and severe endo and I have to say where I am now is a hell of a lot better than before the shots, I'm not getting the horrible pressure type pain I used to get or the ripping feeling, no pain when going to the loo etc so I'm glad so far that I went for it!
I completely understand being wary of it, I really was too as I said and I think I would have been less scared of it if I'd heard more positive experiences of the GNRH drugs as I know there are a lot of other women out there who haven't had major issues with them, so thought I'd share mine!
Hope this helps your decision making whichever way you decide to go
ask the doc about side effects before you commit to anything x
Hi, I had a laparoscopy last March to have endometriosis removed but still suffered with pain so I was given the option of the pill but didn’t go with this because I always get awful side effects from them. I was also given the option of trying the prostap injection which switches off your hormones.
I have been having mine each month the second one was last week. I was really apprehensive about the side effects but so far I feel much better I had a few headaches after the first injection and have been having a few hot flushes but I can cope with them.
I feel for me it was definitely worth giving a try it obviously isn’t for everyone as we react to things in different ways
Hope this helps
Thank you. I suffer from migraine head aches already, plus depression and I have trouble sleeping which I know these can be side effects to the Lupron so this is why I was wondering who had what side effects and how bad.
