I am awaiting my lap ATM. Due to the backlog on the NHS the wait has been so long and I'm getting to the point where I am freaking myself out thinking what if they don't find anything and there is nothing wrong. The reason I say this is because I don't experience the heavy bleeding and intense period pains many on here say they suffer with. I've been on the pill for 12 years and my period are pretty light lasting 3 days or so. The reason I was referred for the lap was the dragging pulling pain I am experiencing pretty much on a daily basis, pain after sex (sometimes extremely severe to the point I am writhing in pain). I used to suffer with bleeding after sex but that has settled the last couple of months although I'm avoiding sex since the pain so it's hard to tell. Also suffer with bad fatigue but I think that's due to the constant low level pain interrupting my sleep - pain is worse when I lie down. I just wanted to know whether anyone who has received a diagnosis of endo following a lap had the daily low level pain I'm experiencing that doesn't seem to be related to their periods. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long for surgery as the wait is making me doubt myself and I feel like I don't even know what's normal anymore.
Would be grateful to anyone for a reply x

I used to have pretty much bad pains but after my first big surgery that settled I'm now left with mild pains but the tugging sensations and stabbing pains are the worst. I bleed for 3-7 days and it's not as heavy as I used to be but from time to time it's still bad and I mainly bleed black for several days (before and after periods) sex is also painful during and that can last for up to three days. I have endo on my bowels, poD, uterosacral ligament and other places. I'm going in for my 4th or 5th lap soon and I'm always worried they'll find anything -.-
I went for my diagnostic lap last week with suspected endo which they did not find, but they found i have pelvic congestion which gives me stabbing and tugging pains all day x
"Women with this condition experience a constant pain that may be dull and aching, but is occasionally more acute. The pain is worse at the end of the day and after long periods of standing, and sufferers get relief when they lie down. The pain is worse during or after sexual intercourse, and can be worse just before the onset of the menstrual period"
That's what wiki says about the condition - it's so hard as so many of the symptoms overlap with endo. I tick some of the boxes like constant dull aching pain and painful sex but not others - I actually find standing alleviates my pain and lying down is painful. I guess I just have to wait for this lap!
Yeah the symptoms do overlap and sex is just a no go at the moment it hurts so much during. I have my appointment with my consultant in about two months where I’ll get to hear more about what I have. All I heard was my pelvic veins are dilated or something like that. There’s not much online about it and what I see is it happening in women who have had babies, but I’m 19 and never had a child so it’s kinda confusing to me x
I have all the symptoms you listed, including heavy periods, and my lap 3 months ago was negative. I know sometimes the symptoms can be caused by other things but it's hard to feel like everything points to one thing and then be told thats not the case! x
