First period after decapetyl/menopause injection

Hi everyone

I just want to ask a bit of advice with regards my first period following stopping my decapeptyl injections.

I had my last injection start of December 2017 (I had 8 or 9 in total), and started to have my first period towards the end of February 2018.

However, whilst it is not the most painful period I have experienced, I am bleeding incredibly heavily to the point any sanitary items I use last about 1 hour before needing to be changed.

I have been bleeding for a week and know it’ll continue for at least a few more days before it (hopefully) stops.

Has anyone else had similar experiences following being in the menopause?

Hi there I was on prostap equivalent for 3 months. It took 14 great weeks without bleeding to start again. Unfortunately my bleeding didn't stop and I pereserbered for 3 long months of medium to heavy with clots and back again until finally I had to go back on prostap to stop the bleeding. Unfortunatey I'm having bad side effects thus time round and fear I can't continue on them. I gave heart palps all the time anxiety and a general feeling of being unwell all the time. Did you have any of these symptoms? xx

Whilst on decapeptyl for 8-9 months, my endometriosis symptoms were fairly well controlled and I had no bleeding. I have had to come off of that and therefore out of the induced menopause for other reasons. My gynae was quite shocked my periods had not returned quickly, but thankfully I had my first one last week. My only problem is that I am bleeding a lot. I am assuming that it will stop?

Sorry that you experienced symptoms that might mean you have to stop prostap. The symptoms I experienced whilst on decapeptyl were migraines, hot flushes, joint and muscle pain and acne. These have pretty much stopped now that the drug is out of my system.
