Stitches

Hey!

I’m just over 2 weeks post lap and my incisions are healing well. However, I’m not sure about the stitches. I was told they were dissolvable. The stitches that were visible have fallen off now but I can feel where the remaining stitches are still inside.

Is this usual?

Thanks

Kim

Heya,

It took about 5-6 weeks for my stitches to clear, and still now occassionally (years on!) I'm convinced I can feel a little something there. So long as the wound is closed, not seaping etc, I wouldn't worry x

Thanks, I just wanted to check as I’ve never had stitches before. X

Mine didn’t dissolve and ended up with cellulitis after 3rd week. Visit your practice nurse they should be able to get them out for you 😊

Mine took over a month to fully dissolve. As long as your wound isn’t showing signs of infection (bright red, seeping, etc) I wouldn’t worry about it x
