Tiredness

Does anyone else suffer with tiredness that gets worse during their period.

I had quite a heavy flow (sorry tmi) for the past 4 days and I’m so tired even though I’ve slept 8 hours etc. Normally I have a light flow but this month was different.

Could the tiredness be linked to the blood loss or just endo in general

I'm like that all the time 8 hour sleep is too short for me I need 8and a half - 10 to feel slightly better 😂😂😂

Would it be worthwhile asking GP for some blood tests to see if the heavy loss has left you anaemic?

Are you able to eat well and drink lots of water. Sometimes, when tired, it's easier to skip food and drink.

I agree get your iron checked. Mine is very low but better since I started ferrous sulphate. I have endo too. Rest as much as you cam during your period- my hubby does the housework etc whilst I’m on because as pathetic as it sounds I can’t. xoxo

I still have to do the housework for my parents as I’m home all day and they are at work xx

I drink a lot of water but still get headaches and feel tired etc. Would one week of heavy bleeding leave me anaemia though? Normally I have heavy loss the first 2-3 days but this month was different.

It's up to you but no harm in checking.

An alternative would be to eat liver once a week and other foods that contain iron, such as leafy greens and fortified breakfast cereal. You could Google search foods containing iron, list all those you like and make sure to include them in your regular diet.

Have you ever had blood tests to check out your Thyroid function?

I had blood tests done last July and everything was fine but things may have changed now

Did you get a copy of the results?

Always ask for full details - numbers and "normal " ranges. You could ask for a print out of all your results.

They showed them to me at the time and everything was in the normal

My periods vary most months- right now their irregular and short - less than 2 days. Other times it’ll be longer. It’s all part of endo I’m afraid 🙄 definitely tell your GP that you are very tired - I think anaemia is linked to endo. have anaemia despite short periods. Get your iron checked xoxo

Thank you, my doctors are gonna be sick of me soon haha xx

That’s what they are there for. You can’t help it- they need to support you whilst you await to be diagnosed.

My GP is managing my pain and symptoms whilst I await my next laparoscopy. ( it looks like mine had returned)

I felt so much better on ferrous sulphate and if you need iron you will much better. Low iron can make you very tired xoxo
