Rectum bleeding

May sound a bit strange but does anyone else get bleeding from their back passage during their period

I do, I had endo on the bowels years ago which stopped the bleeding once the op was done but bowel bleeds restarted again so had a colonoscopy but nothing showed up, yet still bleed.

Yes, it can be a sign of endo in the bowel wall. You need to get it checked out by a colorectal consultant in a bsge accredited endo centre x

Yes I’ve been getting this for several months now, every period. I’ve had a colonoscopy which was clear, then an MRI which I’m waiting for the results for . My gynaecologist and gastroenterologist both think I have rectovaginal endo, my gynae has said if it is I am going to be referred to bsge centre. Hopefully the MRI results will give some clear answers.

Hi,

I have PR bleeding as well.Not only with periods but also when not on periods.I ended up in A&E last year at Christmas ,because I had lost so much blood,that I needed blood transfusion (4 bags).Endo has taken a toll on my life since 2012,I am a nurse and now I am unable to work because of it.I have just started a new job and I have being off sick for the last week.I have never claimed any benefit,but I can't work either.

I feel so helpless.

Yep I do too... but they didn’t say I had endo on my bowel... so unsure about why this happens xx

Yes I get that too.

My endo was in POD. I had some excised from my uterus and some lazered from my rectum 😳 I’m currently awaiting my second laparoscopy in March as my endo symptoms have returned since my miscarriage.

I think it is quite common with endo - but do get it checked out by GP/ specialist xoxo
