Hi Lalamish I totally sympathise with what your saying as Im in the same boat as yourself! Was having really bad periods for a good few years now. Went to the doctors scans etc and they found I had a cyst on one of my ovaries. Had a lap op 2 years ago but when surgeon went in he discovered I also had endo. The cyst and endo was removed but was still having pains during my period.

Last April went back to my consultant/Surgeon with this complaint and he advised having the Mirena coil fitted which I did. 10 months later nothing has changed! Bleeding on and off, with a yellowish discharge when I'm not bleeding. Lower abdominal pains on and off also with hot flushes, moodiness and having to wear a panty liner when Im not bleeding!! So no more further forward then I was really. I have an appt with my Consultant/Surgeon this Monday to discuss having a hysterectomy as I cant live like this anymore as Ive had to go home from work because of how it makes me feel. Now I've read on here and my consultant has also mentioned that a hysterectomy i'snt always the solution and may not improve endo + it may be even worse.

I really want this hysterectomy because I'm sure it will work for me but what if it dosen't???

Hi LiasaG17

I feel you.I'm aware of the fact that it might not work however it worked for quite a lot of females that I know. Its a risk that I'm willing to take, hoping it works be cause lately I don't have time for myself, the kids or the house.I dont want to be negative but if it don't work then we deal with it then.where do you live? I need a friend like you lol...strings and have faith

Hey Lalamish thank you for your reply and being supportive on my decision, that means so much. I'm seeing my consultant today so hope all goes well and he dosen't try and convince me that its not the right move or they can do something else and pump me with some kind of drug! I was thinking.... lots of women say that having a hysterectomy didn't help and they still had the bleeding and pain when they had there monthlys but surely if you have a full hysterectomy you would not have any symptoms as its all gone!!!

I will be your buddy my love! I live in Bedfordshire. Message me any time.

A.... why is he not removing the ovaries? I have a feeling that my doctor wants the same for me as he did mention this when I spoke with him. I don't want anything left. I want it all gone! Ive had my child and don't intend having anymore. I'm 48 this year and I'm going through the menopause now so lets just do it! I dont want anymore periods. Yes I am on FB. I noticed your from South Africa.

Oh my love how old are you? I get what hes saying. Are you planning on anymore children? Also you would go straight into your menopause but there are lost of natural remedies even HRT to go on. Whats your FB name so I can find you if thats ok??
