This a bit of a weird question but I just wanted to know if anyone else experiences endo pain worse when they are sitting or lying down? I tend to have low level pain through the day which is manageable and it always gets worse as soon as I sit/lie down which makes sleep difficult. Going for a walk tends to help, so I don't think it's because I'm more aware of the pain when I'm still. Has anyone else experienced this? And is there a reason for this?

Pain when resting?
Hello! I used to have a lot of pain in my hips when I layed down for long periods of time or when I got up in the morning. Turns out - ta dah - endo all round my pelvis which is now removed and I feel a lot better! I used to just pace a lot when pain was bad as being still for too long would sometimes be worse. Hope you feel better soon xx
Thanks for your reply Hannah - it's horrible, I just feel like I can't rest and I don't ever look forward to going to bed! I hadn't heard of positional pain being a thing so your comment helps a lot thank you xx
Hi,
I have endo on bladder , bowel, pouch of dougles and adisions on right ovary. When I sit down for longer then 10 min in same position on sofa and chair in restaurant my pain increases dramatically. However laying down eases it. I suppose it all depends on where the endo is or if you have any adisions attaching certain organs together. If I have to sit through a meeting or meal I find heat pads or waterbottles can help a little. Hope this helps you x
Ty Holleymuzz! That totally makes sense actually. And yes my water bottle has my become my new best friend and is constantly stuck down the front of my jeans so that it looks like I have a lovely fat pouch there 😂 Great way to seduce the boyfriend 👍🏻 And awkward when I forgot to take it out to go food shopping 🛒
Yes, I definitely find this to be the case and I’ve always wondered why! Xxx
Thanks Janine. Good to know I'm not going mad! x
No real words of advice other than to say yes I struggle sitting down finding the pain unbearable. Standing or walking helps me to manage it. Lying down is a bit hit or miss for me. Can often cope curled with a hot water bottle but sometimes find I'm in absolute agony and need to get up and pace around to try and ease the cramps. Hope you find some relief
