Hello lovelies,
I had my first lap on 11th Jan. Diagnosed with endometriosis at last. The growth was everywhere so had it removed from my rectum, uterus, bladder, all over my pelvis and random floating growths. My left ovary was stuck so had that freed and fluid drained from all around it as well as 3cm cyst removed from left ovary too.
Very very painful recovery so far. Oramorph and tramadol as well as antiinflammatory drugs.
Had follow up on 25th where surgeon explained that if me and my partner (of 8 years) want children then we need to start trying now as cannot afford to wait. I'm 29 and although would have liked to have been married first we are both happy and ready to be trying.
I've stopped taking nogrestrel three days ago and have just started another period even though I had mine, like clockwork, after lap when due on 13th as usual.
Has anyone else come off nogrestrel?
And if anyone has any happy conception stories after first lap that would be a big help, I'm so scared. I don't expect to get 'caught' straight away but would be nice to know it's possible.
Next appointment with my gynaecologist who did my op is in July, if we aren't pregnant by then he is going to refer us to fertility centre so we fast track the usual year waiting. I feel really lucky to have a lovely gynaecologist and he was very optimistic and encouraging about fertility. I'm going to be off work six weeks instead of four post lap because they removed so much and I'm usually on my feet 12hrs a shift at work (I'm an oncology nurse).
Just need a bit of reassurance really as I'm sat here, being awake since 2am with pain even though I took a zopiclone to sleep and oramorph with paracetamol to settle.
Sorry but of a needy message, just need a bit of reassurance.
Many thanks to everyone for reading this. I hope all you lovely endo ladies are doing ok out there and your disease isn't giving you too much trouble.
Sending love and thanks xxx
