Trying to get pregnant after lap

Hello endo warriors!

I had my lap in January which removed stage two growth from uterus, bladder and my pelvis also had fluid drained from my left ovary and two cysts removed.

At my two week follow up my surgeon said if my and my fiancé want babies we need to start trying now. I stopped my pill immediately. We haven't been actively trying but now my pain is better and I feel stronger we are planning to have a lot more sex around ovulation etc and really try from this month.

I was just wandering if anyone has managed to conceive after lap and diagnosis? I've been scared for years that I might not be able to have babies.

I've been with my partner for eight years, we have our first house as of November and are getting married in July so are very happy and settled.

There are so many horror stories our there I think I just need some reassurance if that's ok? My last period was a dream haha! Hardly any pain and I was bloated but not swollen a snapshot it only. Lasted three days!?! So much better than the hell I had previously. I'm hoping my body will be ready for grwings tiny person soon.

Hi Hannah,

I hope you're all recovered from the op?

I had mine last April, had two endo cysts on both ovaries. One removed and the other drained, due to my surgeon not wanting to take too much of my egg count. i still have a considerable amount in my pelvis but I was told I only had endo removed which would affect my fertility.

During our follow up my surgeon recommended ivf as our best option to become parents.

We did try naturally for a few months prior to beginning ivf but didn't have any success. So started our ivf journey August last year. Once we started we found the cyst I had drained, had already grown back, however it was measuring at 3cm. So I was told as long as it doesn't grow I could continue.

Thankfully it hasn't to date!

At the moment I don't have a success story to tell you. Our first cycle gave me a chemical pregnancy and our second cycle has just given us a BFN.

We are now in a position of maybe going back to trying naturally as the ivf (icsi) is quite punishing on the body, especially with endo.

I would love to also hear if there are success stories. My consultant has never ever said I wouldn't be able to conceive due to my endo, so this is the hope I'm always holding onto.

Best of luck with your journey.

From one endo warrior to another (apologies for the novel) Xx

Hello! Thanks so much for your reply, I love a novel anyway!!

So sorry to hear you've had chemical pregnancy and been struggling to conceive, it's so stressful all this fertility stuff. I hope you are successful soon and that your cyst behaves itself!

What does bfn stand for? Sorry I've never seen that one before.

I'm hoping people will share their positive stories to give us hope!

Thanks again for replying, I really do wish you the best of luck xxxx

Hello, thanks so much for your reply. Best of luck to you and your gf. I've just been looking through the leaflets I was given and it sounds so daunting. My fiancé has been amazing and has just suggested we have more date nights around ovulation time haha! My mum has suggested relaxing and getting a massage or something and wine. Apparently me and my brother were both conceived under the influence of white Zinfandel and Don jaus haha!! Xx
