Hi I’m in the middle of trying to be diagnosed, I have a lot of test and stuff coming up, think I have cysts on left ovary and always suspected endo.. could anyone tell me what types of gastro problems they have had and doe sit come on and off? I’ve recently started getting a lot acid reflux and stomach making funny noises.. I have read a lot of different things about this there is many different factors that can cause it that’s why I am getting tested, I am only 25 and over all I’m healthy, my period pains are so intense I take time off work faint run back and forth the toilet etc... but this time I’m having pain around ovulation and that is where the gas and stuff had started? Would appreciate any bit of advice or stories from anyone who’s had a similar experience! Also getting an uncomfortable pain under ribs around same time as acid reflux ...

I have daily stomach pains which makes my stomach tender to touch, sharp rib pain that comes and goes, back pain, nausea, bloating, gas, constipations a lot but sometimes runs, bleeding through my rectum (tends to be on my period but sometimes happens off) dark hard stool, pain going to the loo, pain during sex and weight loss 😮 My stomach actually makes noise as well 🤔 If you dont have weight loss or bleeding in stool or pain daily (I mean endo can cause daily pain) its probably endo causing it but best to get it checked out 🤔 I'm currently being tested for h polyri because my liver is acting like its a virus but a year ago when this all started I got tested and it came back negative 😮 My doctor think it coild be gastroparesis but I think it might be crohns 🤔 Anyway good luck 🤞🏻

A lot of this sounds like me minus the weight loss, I’ve always been thin and had a fast metabolism weight goes up and down all the time.. hope you are ok sounds awful! If you don’t mind me asking did you ever have cysts?? Or get the sharp stabbing pain around the pelvic area? That’s what I seem to get most of x

Thank you! Last question I promise haha do you find as all your symptoms seemed to be developing that you would feel different things each month? I can be fine and then randomly get a new symptom like a sore back two weeks ago which seems fine now, but now it’s the acid reflux and bloated ness x

Hmm thats a hard one 😂 Because most of my period symptoms like rectal bleeding and pain going to the loo on my period developed years ago I cant remember when it started but my nausea weight loss etc all started 1 year ago after I fell ill thats why I'm unsure if its endo or gastro stuff but definetly my costipation and dark hard stool and bloating started a few months ago 🤔 Its hard to keep track on when stuff starts 😂😂 Im sorry I cant help 😭 X

Hello

Yes my gastro symptoms are usually there but are worse some days than others. I get bad ingestion and very swollen and sore stomach and sometimes urgency to go to toilet.

If you look up an essential oil blend called ZenGest (can get it off ebay) i ttake some of this in water and also massage stomach with this mixed with coconut oil and that helps x

I will look this up thank you! If you don’t mind me asking did you always have gastro symptoms or did they develop as your endo developed? It is new to me the acid reflux I’m finding it hard to deal with x

You're welcome ☺

No I didn't always have these problems. The digestive problems have come over the last year or so as I think my endo has got worse/spread to bowel. I get nausea as well.

I had pain round ribs and had scan in case gall stones but it isn't so doctor said could be endo there too. To be honest that's no where near as bad as the pelvic and bowel pain/issues.

Are you having an MRI? Xx

Ok I see, that is just like mine! Does your tummy make lots of noises? People in work just stare at me because it’s so loud after eating😩 .. I have my first ever cervical screening and blood tests on Thursday then the following week I have a full stomach and lower pelvic area ultra sound, i think I have cysts but then afterwards I am hopefully gunna get a laparoscopy.. is that how yours was diagnosed? X

It does make gurgling noises now - it never used to.

I've had lots of blood tests, pelvic ultrasound and abdominal one (to see if gallstones) and an MRI. The MRI seemed to show (as know they're not 100% fool proof in diagnosing endo) widespread and deep endo all over pelvic area and on bowel. It also showed cysts in both ovaries and a blocked and inflammed fallopian tube.

I then got to see a gynocologist on NHS as I paid for MRI privately as my gp kept saying they wouldn't refer me to a gynocologist and to just see how it goes (!)

Saw him in Nov and he has put me on waiting list for laproscopy. It it for treatment and not just diagnosis since he thinks there's quite a few issues x

Oh wow that sounds so painful I feel for you! Do the cysts hurt you? My sharp pelvic pain is what is stopping me from living a normal life it’s horrible! I hope they sort something for you as soon as possible!xxx

Hi i don't know which things are causing the pain but i think cysts can cause pain? Xx

It sounds abit like u may have ibs related problems to which i was told by gastro is quite normal with people that have endo or period problems

ASP789 profile image
ASP789 in reply toLulububs

I was told for years it was ibs but now they've seen endo on bowel they say its that?

Lulububs profile image
Lulububs in reply toASP789

Oh i didnt know that. I have suspected endo plus ibs symtoms it a nitemare. I just try to keep my gut as healthy as poss , eat non inflammatory diey, take probiotics, digestive enzymes and peppermint oil cap as i always have trapped wind or indigestion

ASP789 profile image
ASP789 in reply toLulububs

That sounds v similar to me. Have you had an MRI or lap?

Lulububs profile image
Lulububs in reply toASP789

Yeh i have had a lap and they said nothing there at all but i saw a endo gynae and he wasnt impressed with that and said he wants to do another one next year.

He think it could b my overies.

I do suffer stomach wise though, i am intolerant to dairy and gluten so i keep away from that and red meat. I eat small

Meals aa i feel bloated and sick otherwise.

I do take all me supplements and that helps keep everything

Undee control

Until i have me period then all hell let loose lol

Do you drink peppermint tea after eating? I do or some of the ZenGest oil in warm water and find that helps a bit. I also eat much smaller portions than I did and eat more frequently x

Soph1992 in reply toASP789

I tried peppermint tea for the first time today after reading a lot of people drink it.. and I don’t actually feel as bloated.. xx

ASP789 in reply toSoph1992

If you get edible peppermint essential oil and put 2-3 drops in warm water that's apparently much stronger than peppermint teabags - can't remember exactly but an aromatherapy woman told me its like 1 drop is equivalent to 100 teabags? It does taste strong but I find it helps x

Hi Soph

I can totally relate to your sharp stabbing pain and yes it was to do with cysts in my case. I'm having a unilateral salpingo ooperectomy on Monday to remove 2 cysts on my left ovary, the left ovary and Fallopian tube. All done laparoscopy fingers crossed.

I've had the stabbing pains now for almost a year and 2 ultrasound scans later the cysts have grown and not reduced with treatment, also been to see gynaecologist last app 1st Dec and surgery from that. He's diagnosed me with Endo as well as I'm in a lot of pain. Daily, some days worse than others with bowel issues and reflux

Kinda jnterested to see what they find in a weird way it would help to know what's causing all the pain.

Hey soph1992

I have had all these problems for years...

Painful periods.

Gastro probs

My gut makes so much noise at night i actually keep husband away.

I have also lost 11/2 stone.

I found out i was dairy and gluten intolerant( and yeast) so i stopped all that about year ago and most of its gone...

I also take some probiotics and some peppermint oil and that helps settle my gut and get rid of the rib pain which i think is wind..

Thank you all so much for sharing a part of your story, it has helped calm me down a lot as I was going crazy wondering what was wrong with me! I can’t believe endometriosis is kept so quiet when so many people suffer from it! I will defiantly give the diet a go and I’ve bought some pepper mint tea! It’s strange it’s been a week and a half and now right before my doctors app tomorrow all my symptoms have slowly started to settle down!(for now) I must of had my first big flare up I’m guessing! Goodluck to you all for the future 💖 x
