Extremely heavy period

Hi I’m in need of help. For the past two mornings I’ve woken up in a pool of blood and the entirety of my legs covered in blood, despite using a super tampon and a pad. I then on both days had a period of time I was changing my super tampon every 5 minutes. I’m not really eating or drinking cause the pain is making me feel sick. Is it worth going to my gp?? Please help

Definitely. You are losing too much blood so they should investigate what is causing it. Ring 111 for further advice x

My gp decided it wasn’t an emergency and I’d have to wait till next Thursday to get an appointment. Thanks for the help though x

If it continues, I would suggest going to a walk-in centre if there is one near you. In the meantime, maybe take some iron supplements to help boost you up x

My GP wouldn’t even see me. I feel so ill 24/7, I think I went 48 hours without eating, and I’ve not gone to college. I’ve only left my bed for a total of 2 hours today. It’s ridiculous. I called 111 and they told me to just rest as it will pass. Hope you feel better soon
