Hi ladies, I know that there is a lot of post on period pain post lap. The thing is my period isn’t due till Christmas Day. I am exactly Day 14 post laparoscopy . Being having brown discharge for about 5 days now. After lap I bleed for around 4 - 5 days. Then no bleeding.
I am in the most excruciating pain. It seems to be affecting me left leg. I can’t stand or walk. Cannot even feel my bladder being full due to the pain. Had paracetamol and ibuprofen which hasn’t touched the pain. Can’t take codeine as it constipates me severely. Is this expected for first period post lap? I’m back at work but looking like I might be calling it a day. As soon as I can move.
I am worried about infection. I just have never had pain like this before. Also what did you ladies take for the pain?

After my first lap I was on morphine for a few days as I had a ruptured cyst, second lap was tramadol and diclofenic and my 3rd I had naproxen and nefopam (naproxen is like diclofenic and nefopam is like tramadol just it’s not opiate based). As for pain after surgery I only had it for a few days then I was fine as long as I took things steady and didn’t over do things and I in general felt much better and didn’t get any period pains after my laps that only got bad again a couple of years later when the endo and cysts returned. If your concerned contact your gp they can advise you and possibly give you some stronger pain relief and stronger anti inflammatorys, the brown coloured blood could just be post op blood that’s only just making its way out but again ask your gp they can say for certain, hope your feeling better soon and have a lovely xmas.
