I have had a heck of a time with endo after my c section 2 years ago...I've had 2 laporotomies which removed some endo and adhesions, with the first one they also inserted the merina which made the pain and bleeding worse so with the second procedure they removed it and started me on continuous contraceptive pill, that made my pains worse and had very unpredictable bleeding. So they began me on zoladex implant, I've had 3 months of this and so far so good, however I can only have another 3 months... Last time I seen the consultant he said if it didn't work it would mean one thing and if it did it would mean another, when asked what it would mean he refused to tell me and said he would bring me back after 3 months of the implant and see how I'm doing to then make a decision on the next step. He has mentioned hysterectomy before but keeps trying to avoid that conversation with me. What could the issues be which he was talking about? If it's working with zoladex would this mean it's highly likely I will need a hysterectomy. Left in limbo :(

Hey XX

I had a RV Endo nodule , so a different scenario to you. But I was put on a zoladex trial. I was told if it worked I may have an option of oopherectomy ovary removal to help my symptoms rather than risky bowel surgery that I was reluctant to consider. If it didn't work that option was off the table. It didn't work for me as my Endo type proved hormone resistant and I reacted badly to the drug so I had the excision in July instead.

Hope you are ok xxx

Aww bless hope it went well. Zoladex seems to be working for me so far and pain massively reduced. Do you think it would be the option of oophrectomy/ hysterectomy then with it reacting well to the zoladex

We can speculate it might be the way his thoughts are heading but no one can't really second guest an expert gynaecologist. He perhaps only wants to broach something if it's a viable enough option to put on table. It's controversial as an approach.
