Hi everyone. I have endometriosis and polycystic ovaries. I am 24 and had been waiting a while for diagnosis but finally have one. The hardest thing I am finding is the complete lack of awareness. I’m in constant pain, try everything, but I work 10/11 hour days and not one of my colleagues seems to take my pain into consideration. I’m trying to live a normal life, but I’m finding it difficult. I try all the pain management techniques I read about but does anyone have any suggestions to manage pain? As I need to try to help myself if work won’t.

What have you tried already?
I had some success with reducing dairy and gluten and taking anti inflammatory food like ginger and turmeric. Also , it sounds bizarre, but breathing meditation exercises help get less stressed out about pain. I've heard good things about tens and acupressure/ acupuncture if you are wanting alternatives to drugs.
It may be worth talking to your employer properly and exploring what possible options there are on reducing your hours. I compressed my hours to 4 days as a reasonable adjustment request, which gave me more recovery time to cope each week. Endo can be lagally classed as a disability if of sufficient severity and duration. Or can you find a new job with fewer hours?
I've tried hormone treatment, anti inflammation, pain killers. Eating healthier (removing caffeine, chocolate processed foods) , heat patches, hot water bottles, tens machines
I live on ginger and turmeric
Good luck
