Ruptured follicle, but not ovulating. Anyone had any experiences?!

Hi all

I was diagnosed with endo two years ago and had a lap. It was mild at this stage but presented horrible symptoms. I’ve had the mirena coil and that has been good in helping. I should mention the endo is on my bowel and pouch of Douglas.

The pain has started again and today I finally went for another ultrasound. I had to have an internal exam as my uterus was tilted (I already knew this) it was insanely uncomfortable.

I was told the results will go to my gp (I don’t know why my gp referred me as I already know I have endo and it’s hard to see it on an ultrasound!)

Anyway the lady mentioned that I would have to go back in 6 weeks as I have a ruptured follicle on my ovary. She said this could be fairly normal if I’m ovulating as one egg is more dominant than others and ruptured releasing hormones during ovulation. The thing is I know I’m not ovulating. I take regular tests as I don’t have periods and I’m trying to track my pain and spot patterns.

I’m worried now that the follicle isn’t due to ovulation at all, and even more worried that last time my ovaries were fine. I haven’t yet had children and I have been worrying about my fertility for a while (I am 28 and don’t want to leave it too late with having endo)

Has anyone had any similar experiences that can tell me what happened next? 6 weeks seems such a long time away to find out if there is a problem or not.

Any info anyone can share really would help put a worried 28 year olds mind at rest.

Thank you and wishing everyone a pain free day!
