Awaiting lap

Hi i had my 1st appt on 9th sep with my new surgeon who is an endo specialist last 4 laps were with a regular gynaecologist and was told my lap wld be within the next 3 months, had my pre op 1 st November then got a call yesterday to say I’m a tricky case as I need to have 2 endo specialists together to do my surgery, appointments lady says that’s the 1st time she’s ever heard of 2 specialists needed for 1 patient and getting 2 specialists free at the same time isn’t easy so I may have to wait a little longer for my lap, I was aware of this as new dr told me at my appointment with him but he never explained why 2 were needed, has anyone else had to have 2 present. Thanx for reading xx

Look at it from a different perspective: you will be looked at by two specialist- there’s nothing they can overlook, nothing missed, nothing can go wrong! How lucky is that!

Hi!

I’m under two consultants, one at a specialist centre and the other in the process of setting one up. I was told they would be likely to do my first op together as I’m complex too ( nerve damage in my leg, buttock and back). I’m due my first lap on 22/11 but unfortunately it’s going to be diagnostic. If I end up needing a second, I’m pretty sure I’ll have both surgeons (and possibly more) present. Don’t worry, it will be worth the wait to be in expert hands and the experience they gain from operating on complex cases will help other women. X

Hi, I suppose I am lucky to have 2 endo spcialists, some ppl struggle to get just 1 n here I am with 2, just when the nurse says she never known 2 surgeons 2 1 patient it sorta gets u tad bit worried n wondering is there something they aren't telling you, I had my 3rd diagnostic lap last year where they found I had extensive endo and adhesions was around my uterine artery and blood vessels, all over my bowel my bladder stuck to abdomin wall all in POD everywhere really they had to just close me bk up as alot of damage cld have bn done if they just started layering and cutting especially with the artery area so cld transferred to specialist in Edinburgh. Hope ur op goes well xx
