How long to get an appointment after ultrasound?

Hi all,

I had an ultrasound scan four weeks ago where the lady doing the scan said that my endometrioma cyst on the left ovary had re-filled and was measuring at 6cm. I was expecting a letter from my consultant a couple of weeks after the appointment to see where we go from here as that’s what has happened in previous times but I have heard nothing.

How long does it usually take for scan results to reach the consultant and results to be discussed? How long should I leave it before I call the hospital to check on this?

I don't know what your relationship you have with your Consultant but do you know his secretary? Because she would be worth a ring, I'm assuming he ordered the scan. He may have written to your GP, have you checked with your GP?

Hi thanks for your reply, I was going to call my consultants secretary if I hadn’t heard anything by Friday, I didn’t think to try my GP so if the secretary can not help I will call my doctor I wasn’t sure if these things can take a while or if mines got lost on it’s way. Thank you x
