I had the Mirena coil fitted about two and a half months ago now, the first month or so was so painful but I was told to stick through it so I have. My stomach pain has decreased a lot, however I do constantly have either a stabbing pain or pulsing sensation in my bottom left side of my stomach. I was wondering whether this is something which anyone else has experienced and whether I should get this checked out?

I've just joined as I'm having a terrible time just now , was just reading your post I have exact same symptoms as you, I had the marena coil fitted 4 weeks ago I have been in constant pain since been in and out of hospital every time I I was sent home with antibiotics as it came back I had a uti I have had 5 uti 'a since the marena coil was inserted , it has went into a kidney infection and also kidney stone I am still on my last few days of antibiotics and still in pain , it might be worth u making an appointment with your local gp to ensure u don't have a uti..
Hi, thank you for your response. I've had UTIs before, however it's usually painful when you pass urine and you feel as if you need to go more often? I'm not experiencing either of these unless there's different types? Sorry to hear that you're suffering with this! I'm going to call my GP this morning x
I had the mirena fitted in June, like you I have left sided pain but mine was there before the coil was fitted, I thought it was my ovary but I've been told the pain is in the wrong place, I have cysts on my ovary so I just assumed it was one and the same issue. I used to suffer a UTI every month, sometimes 2 but since fitted I've not had as many. I just wish the bleeding would stop, that's the reason it was fitted in the first place as well as painful periods.
Thank you for your response. I got diagnosed with endometriosis April 2016 and there wasn't any cysts, just endometrium but since the op I've had more pain than I did before it. I've been to Drs several times but they just keep giving me different meds to try. I've had UTIs before but I found them painful to urinate and had the urge to go more as well but I haven't been experiencing either of these. I'm going to call my GP today. When I was fitted with the coil, my gynae told me to continue taking my pill, I had a break and I haven't taken it since which seems to be OK so far!
I had the Mirena coil an from the start to having it removed I had what felt like a stitch in my right low stomach for the whole duration I was told to let it settle I stuck it for 7 months then asked for it removing the moment it was remove the stitch went
