After my diagnostic it took a good 3 months to go down. Only 5 weeks post my major treatment and still looking very pregnant :(

Yes both mine were laps. Maybe I just have a weak stomach muscle band. I wonder if physio might speed it up.

Mine has taken a couple of weeks following a diagnostic laparoscopy

Have you tried a laxative, I find then when I drink a Movicol it does go down a bit

Take some digestive enzymes containing cellulose and bean digest. Plant based diets are great, but tough to digest esp post op. Or go to health food store and ask for digestive aid. Might help a bit.

The condition itself can cause prolonged bloating so for ladies who are left with bloating long after op, perhaps its exacerbated by the surgery. I was told 2-3 days by consultant! I can't see that being the case. Ive read it can be 3 months before it all dies down.

Try mint tea, abdominal massage with oils like chamomile, lavender, fennel. Once recovered from surgery, you could try herb teas for water retention and gentle exercise. Also keep your hydration up. Surgery is very dehydrating and even though you feel full of fluid and gas, if you dehydrate, you re body will hold on to fluid. I had a bladder scan to see why I wasn't peeing after surgery, and it was only a quarter full... not even enough to trigger the internal valve to open, but I felt like id drunk gallons!

After my diagnostic lap, it didn't take long at all to go down. I made sure I was drinking 2 cups of peppermint tea a day for the first 2 weeks after. Seemed to really help. So now am drinking them every couple of days. x

I'm 5 weeks post surgery. My swelling went down by 3rd week. My stomach is still slightly swollen and does towards end of the day. Peppermint tea helps. I suppose it depends what surgery you are having/had.

My swelling went down in about 2 weeks but I still got a little bloated every time I ate but that has gone away now by week 3.
